Film about a man who adopts and brings up three children, one white and two black (what is this film called?)?

I remember watching this film and really enjoying it, i think it might have bruce willis in it but i cant remember, its about a man who adopts three young youths whodont have much of a life ahead of them.. two are black and one white, one guy grows up and is a kind of rocker, one a kind of gangster and i think ones really smart, they're dad dies I THINK and then they try and seek justice to who killed hiim together, what is this film called.. pleaseeeee really cant remember
